Dirty Little Secret ;)

I have decided that it is time to openly admit one of my guilty pleasures....I am addicted to vampire books. My current love is the Sookie Stackhouse series, which has also been turned into a series on HBO called True Blood. I don't really get why I love these books so much. They are corny, far fetched, a little lame, but I still read them. Maybe it's because they provide me a small escape from reality, but can still be read without much concentration. After I put the kids to bed I like to sit and read a couple chapters. More than once my fiancé has laughed out loud at the expression on my face while I read them. He claims it is one of amused disgust, like I know how dumb it all is, yet I am amused by it. Who else has a dumb little guilty pleasure like this? I am interested to hear that I am not the only one J

  1. I like the vampire stories as well; I really like the Twilight series, but I don't like the movie versions. i don't like how they cut all the good parts out in the movie. The books on this story is definitely better than the movies.

  2. I too like the vampire stories and I agree with Jodie the books are much better than the movies......as always. My friends and I often laugh and say we were the ones who started the craze. I do not know if any of you remember the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer but it was a favorite movie of mine growing up. After watching it my friends and I shaved sticks to a point in order for us to kill our imaginary vampires. We even had vampires boyfriends. I bet we played these games for about two years. I remember thinking how awesome it would be to fall in love with a vampire and be turned to live forever with my one and only true love. We still laugh and say Stephanie Myer copied our games.

  3. haha! I too have had that look on my face numerous times. I loved the twilight series and I'm not sure why. Like you say, I know its corny, a little lame, far fetched.. I just couldn't help myself. Reading those books was like a guilty pleasure. A little bit of action, romance and a whole lot of fantasy. Once I finished the series I even looked for more to the books. I found that the author rewrote the whole first book from Edwards point of view. I would have loved to have read it but the book got leaked online and the author decided not to publish it. It's still online and you can find it but for me it wasn't worth reading a 400+ page book online.

  4. lol How ironic, the Twilight movie is one TV right now! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that loves these corny books!

I do remember Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I loved it!! I actually have all the seasons on DVD, lol. I think I liked the story line so much because of The relationship between Buffy and Angel. I sometimes pull them out and start from the beginning and watch them here and there when I have time.
